Signed Sealed Delivered

wrapit awards 2008 best wedding planner

To have an organised approach from the beginning will bring you no end of dividends. There are some key decisions that need making and being decisive will certainly help, although with Asian weddings the input of so many people can get rather fustrating. Once you make a decision try to stick with it because, ultimately, too many changes of mind will lose you credibility, not just with family but with suppliers too.

If you are a simple person, do not get coaxed into a large wedding.

A wedding off-season will definitely keep costs down.

Book well ahead to secure your choice of the best suppliers – leaving it late means you will probably have to settle for less than the best.

Ask parents for their input right from the beginning – you can adapt some of what they say into the event.

Always make a comparison for like for like – the worst thing you can do is select the cheapest supplier and he turns up three hours late at your wedding, or not at all if you’re really unlucky!

Go with your instinct on whether a supplier will be capable of delivering what you want.

Limit your guest list, then you can treat your nearest and dearest to a spectacular event that’s closer to the ideal celebration you’ve always imagined.

Choosing a venue – do not restrict yourself to a 10 minute drive from home. Sometimes it is better to choose somewhere rather nice and pay that little bit extra, if the alternative is a school hall which will need a complete kit-out to make it even remotely pleasant for you and your guests.

Take out wedding insurance early so that you are covered should a supplier or venue cancel (read the small print of the policy you take out).

And finally, book a wedding planner which will save you heaps of time, effort and resources!
