Known variously as the godfather of Bhangra, the mix master, and the man who brought Asian music into the mainstream, Bally Sagoo has married in a style befitting one of the UK’s biggest Asian music stars.

He wed sweetheart Sita Pall in a stylish event with less than 150 special guests amid 400 rolling acres at the exclusive 18th century Heythrop Park in Chipping Norton, on Friday, April 16.

To create their memorable day the celebrity couple brought in specialist Asian wedding planner Anita Patel. Her company, Tania-Tapel Weddings based in Leicester, created a sumptious event of dazzling ambience and style, which went from the refined strains of a string quartet to the excitement of a specialist bhangra dance troupe, and included live performances by the Asian singing star Gunjan, of America.

Bally Sagoo is described as the world’s highest paid Indian DJ, and has 20 album releases plus Bollywood film scores to his name, as well as a string of production credits. His own label, ISHQ Records, is known for developing bright new talent, including artists such as Rishi Rich, and the female vocalist Gunjan.

Bally is joined by Gunjan on his new single, Aap Ki Nazron Ne Samjha, released the day before his wedding and was a special song dedicated to his new bride Sita, who featured in the video at the wedding venue, Heythrop Park.

Several stars of the entertainments world were on the exclusive guest list for Friday’s event, held amid tight security.

The bride and groom were delighted with everything. The location was perfect. Clients are prepared to travel nowadays and don’t require venues to be on their doorstep.
