June 2008 Rockin Rakesh Show in Vancouver Gets A Visit
Radio India is the largest Indian radio station based in Surrey, Vancouver with over 400,000 listeners worldwide (Indians, Pakistanis, Fijians, Ismailis, Sri Lankans, Bangladeshis).
A radio interview is arranged with Anita Patel to talk about international weddings and how things are changing all over the world and so it’s only a matter of time in Vancouver for Indians to be given some more flexibility from the hotels.
Rockin Rakesh is a household name presenting the drivetime show.
June 2008 Visit to Vancouver With Olympics Minister, Tessa Jowell
Tania-Tapel invited to attend a trade mission to Vancouver to discuss the potential opportunities between Canada and the UK – Vancouver to host 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, followed by the 2012 Olympics in London
Headed by Tessa Jowell, Minister for the Olympics and London, the delegation was honoured with a special reception before embarking on a round of meetings and visits throughout Vancouver looking at the potential for trade links between Canada and the UK during the next fours years of Olympics activity.
June 2008 BBC Asian Network Invite The Wedding Guru
The Sonia Deol Show on BBC Asian Network is a popular show for Indians of all ages throughout the UK as she is a familiar voice for so many over the years of dedicated presenting.
Anita Patel is the country’s expert on Asian Weddings and so a show dedicated to discussing weddings as wedding season is ongoing has been organised. Listeners ring in to tell their stories and questions are raised about budgets and trends, as Anita shares her experiences and opinions.
May 2008 Asian Wedding Planning Training Academy Launch
Tania-Tapel takes the plunge to help others come into the industry the professional way. Anita Patel and her team give the delegates an insight into the industry through experiences, facts and a realistic approach.
The courses have proved to be extremely popular and the delegates rate them 10 out of 10 for their informativeness.
Aimed at individuals who wish to enter the industry and hotel staff who need to get an understanding of the Asian marketplace, both types of delegates gain invaluable advice and training manuals that will set them a cut above the rest.
March 2008 GMTV Breakfast Show Fame
Anita Patel invited as number one wedding planner to the GMTV Breakfast Show with Kate Garraway and Andrew Castle to discuss the escalating cost of English weddings.
February 2008 Voted Britain’s Best Wedding Planners 2008 in the Wrapit Wedding Industry Awards
Tania-Tapel officially the best in the country after winning the national title at an event hosted at Claridges on February 20th. Up against another three wedding planning companies around the country, the Tania-Tapel team was announced at an event with a room full of wedding industry professionals. The awards are sponsored by Wrapit, Conde Nast Brides magazine, Wedgewood and National Wedding Show.
February 2008 HRH Prince of Wales visits Leicester
Tania-Tapel invited to special event hosted by East Midlands Regional Prince’s Trust where Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall attended. An informal chat with both the Prince and Duchess showcasing the business and its achievements over the last 12 years – part of the event highlighted the successes of businesses set up by the Prince’s Trust in years gone by and still going strength by strength.
January 2008 Winners of Regional Best Wedding Planner 2008
Midlands Best Wedding Planner 2008, regional winners in the UK Wrapit Wedding Industry Awards – Recognising excellence within the wedding industry. Will go through to the national finals at Claridges in February.
December 2007 Official Launch of International Operations
Event management operations being extended to Mumbai and Dubai including corporate events, weddings, corporate hospitality and product launches. UK personnel will be on hand to execute events to the highest of standards.
May 2007 Mumbai operation set up to organise weddings in Mumbai. Giving international brides the opportunity of having an experienced wedding planner overseeing their event bringing a wealth of experience and the knowledge and reassurance that it is organised professionally.
January 2007 – Two Great Brands, One Great Result
Asian weddings, events, PR and marketing company Tania-Tapel Limited has just secured a major contract to provide its specialist wedding planning services to award-winning UK caterers Vama Direct, whose client list includes Virgin Airlines boss Sir Richard Branson, King Abdullah, and the Rolling Stones.
April 2006 – Radio BBC Asian Network chatshow
Tania-Tapel called in as expert on Asian weddings to BBC Asian Network chat show with Pablo and Raj answering questions that readers emailed, rang in and texted to cover their personal wedding queries.
April 2006 – Tania-Tapel Group and Tania-Tapel Weddings merge to form Tania-Tapel Limited.
March 2006 – Discussion on live radio Radio Leicester about weddings in general. Asked as guest representative of professional on Asian weddings.
October 2005 – Tania-Tapel hosted their 10 years in business anniversary event at the beautiful Kelmarsh Hall, inviting over one hundred clients past and present and suppliers to this fabulous location.
The event included a trial and ride Jaguar experience, wine tasting and an evening of entertainment from Delsonic.
April 2004 – Marriage of ‘GODFATHER OF BHANGRA’ Bally Sagoo – Friday, April 16, 2004 Heythrop Park, Chipping Norton
Known variously as the godfather of Bhangra, the mix master, and the man who brought Asian music into the mainstream, Bally Sagoo has married in a style befitting one of the UK’s biggest Asian music stars.
He wed sweetheart Sita Pall in a stylish event with less than 150 special guests amid 400 rolling acres at the exclusive 18th century Heythrop Park in Chipping Norton, on Friday, April 16.
Bally Sagoo is described as the world’s highest paid Indian DJ, and has 20 album releases plus Bollywood film scores to his name, as well as a string of production credits. His own label, ISHQ Records, is known for developing bright new talent, including artists such as Rishi Rich, and the female vocalist Gunjan…..
May 2003 – PR and Marketing headline
Tania-Tapel has been featured in the Enterprising magazine with a column talking about PR and marketing for business.
March 2003 – High profile contract Leicestershire Wedding Planner development
Leicestershire Wedding Planner is a supplement specialist magazine produced by the Leicester Mercury.
Tania-Tapel has been working closely with the Leicester Mercury as consultants to help develop the magazine, making it one of the first truly multicultural wedding magazines in the country
October 2003 – Tania-Tapel have organised the second Threads of Gold Asian Bridal Fayre at the Hilton Hotel, Leicester in conjunction with the Hilton and the Leicester Mercury.
This years event featured live demonstrations, and an opportunity to enter a wedding competition worth over £11,000. A creche sponsored by Scalliwags Mobile Creche for children upto 7 years was available on the day for children.
October 2002 – Tania-Tapel relocates
Tania Tapel relocated in to new prestigious offices in Leicester’s city centre. The company has renamed itself as Tania-Tapel Group in line with the work they are involved with. The company is going from strength to strength with weddings, PR and marketing clients on a national level.
September 2002 – BBC Documentary feature
Tania-Tapel was featured in BBC’s East programme on Wednesday 11th September on BBC2 at 7.30pm. The programme featured the growth of the Asian wedding industry estimated to be worth £300 million.
July 2002 – I get by with a little help from my friend by Ebrahim Patel, Vogue Beds Limited
It was a strange time for my business, I was being inundated by magazines, journalists ringing me for quotes, the classified section wanting to know what photograph needed to be in for this months issue and all I really wanted to do was to sell more beds.
June 2002 – Full-page article about Wedding Planners in Asian Bride magazine features company and its services.
June 2002 – Large article in Times Education Supplement featuring Anita Patel in a case study about the company’s involvement in mentoring and the BusinessDynamics program.
February 2002 – Centre spread feature in the local Enterprising magazine produced by Leicester Mercury, about the company and its achievements.
March 2002 – Tania-Tapel Promotions supports local BusinessDynamics Programme helping young people understand business by becoming a BusinessDynamics seminar leader.
September 2001 – Received The Work-Life Balance Trust Award called ‘The Kitchen Table Award’ for women who have made a success of their businesses working from home. The event was hosted at The Savoy in London on September 11th.
April 2001 – Full-page feature in Wedding Planner, a wedding magazine by Leicester Mercury. Highlighted Asian weddings and the role of the Asian Wedding Co-ordination Service.
March 2001 – Anita Patel from Tania-Tapel conducts speech at The Dorchester Hotel, London for GK Noon Charity Dinner, Guest of Honour was Prince Charles (HRH Prince of Wales) and attended by 300 guests from the high profile Indian business sector.
November 2000 – Invited to the residence of the American Ambassador, Philip Lader to promote the work of the Prince’s Trust amongst American and Canadian residing in the UK.
October 2000 – Project undertaken to mentor under-achieving students at local schools.
June 1999 – Half-page feature in the Guardian newspaper, highlighting the success of the company since its launch.
June 1999 – Prince’s Trust organise event at Battersea Park. Recognition of the company as one of eight key businesses that had succeeded through the Prince’s Trust. Event was attended by 150 business organisations with Prince Charles (HRH Prine of Wales) and Tony Blair (Prime Minister) as Guests of Honour.
April 1997 – Expanding work to Asian businesses and organisations by taking on PR and marketing campaigns.
November 1996 – National promotion of the company at the Occasions Wedding, Lifestyle and Fashion Exhibition hosted in London.
Summer 1996 – In recognition of local entrepreneurship won the Shell LiveWire 1996 Award.
October 1995 – First launched at a local exhibition in Leicester to promote the Asian Wedding Co-ordination Service.
October 1995 – Tania-Tapel Promotions was set-up in Leicestershire by Anita Patel through the Prince’s Trust fund.

Tania-Tapel Joins Olympics Minister to Vancouver
June 2008 Anita Patel, head of award-winning Leicester company Tania-Tapel Limited, has been invited to join an Olympics trade mission to Vancouver, led by Tessa Jowell MP, Minister of State for the Olympics and London.
